Honor Will Launch Magic X Folding Phone, Here Are the Leaked Specifications

Honor Bakal Luncurkan Magic X Folding Phone, Ini Bocoran Spesifikasinya

According to a leak from China, Honor will launch a foldable phone in the fourth quarter of this year under the name Magic X. This device is believed to be very similar to the Huawei Mate X2, which has previously been compared to the Galaxy Z Folde 2.

Of course there will be differences, where the main difference between the Honor Magic X and the Huawei Mate X2 will most likely be on the software side. Given that Honor has been cleared of any sanctions from the US, the Honor Magic X can feature Google Play services.

There are also rumors circulating that Honor will launch a foldable phone in the style of the Galaxy Z Flip 3. The rumor that was released by the Digital Chat Station on Weibo also claims that the Honor Magic X will target female users at a price of around $1,550 or approx. IDR 22 million, which is very high considering that Samsung itself released the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 at a cheaper price.

Earlier this year the Huawei Mate X2 was launched with a larger display but a slimmer form factor. This phone leaves the old Mate X’s exterior design, which wraps around the outside of the device. Instead the Mate X2 carries an 8-inch panel that folds up internally.

The changes bring the Mate X2 to look more like the Galaxy Z Fold 2. But Huawei managed to make the phone slimmer and pack a larger internal panel than the 7.6-inch flexible AMOLED in Samsung’s handsets. The company calls it Falcon Wing Design, using a steel and carbon fiber composite chassis.

The Mate X2 sports a 6.45-inch OLED display where both panels support a 90Hz refresh rate: the exterior screen has a touch sampling rate of 240Hz and runs at a resolution of 2700 x 1160, while the outer display has a touch sampling rate of 180Hz and runs at a resolution of 2480 x 2200.

The phone is powered by the Kirin 9000 Chipset, one octacore with one 3.13 GHz Cortex-A77 performance core, three 2.54 GHz Cortex-A77 cores, and four 2.05 GHz Cortex-A55 efficiency cores. They’re paired with Huawei’s Dual Big Core + Tiny Core NPU, plus 8GB RAM and 256GB or 512GB of storage.
